The Make was born out of an independent fashion atelier in the Netherlands. The people behind The Make are experienced in creating outstanding garments for various high-end private labels. With more than 30 years’ experience, they wanted to create a new type of brand, fully online. Their knowledge and passion for making high quality garments and the lack of middlemen makes it easier to aim for high quality, craftsmanship and a personal relationship with the consumer.

With their love for timeless design, delight in detail and dedication to craftsmanship, they have created some wonderful investment pieces that are ready to wear in different ways. And ready to stay. They believe in timeless, ageless and seasonless garments. In search of the perfect wardrobe, they have created a line of beautiful garments that move us. They  inspire, create, choose, share, style, respect, reduce, decide, bring to life, repair, reuse and begin all over again. The Make believes that these are key values for the future.

Craftsmanship

The Make has a stylish signature and is made by people who love their profession. With over 30 years of experience in making clothing for the medium and high segment, the founders Lonneke and Hans know how to make clothing that flatters and fits perfectly. In addition to their love for tailoring, they also have a great love for art and design.

Timeless design

The designs are by Lonneke herself. She translates her own modern, casual-classic style that she combines with unexpected accessories into pieces that women like to have in their closet. Garments that fit well and, above all, can be combined in many ways. Investment pieces that you do not buy for a single season. The choice of fabric is central to the design. All materials are made of a high quality. The garments can be worn with love for years and preferably also be given a second life. Ample time is taken to perfect designs and fit. Everything has been thought through and only the best designs are produced.

Our headquarters

The design studio and showroom are located in rural Andelst between Arnhem and Nijmegen. An inspiring environment where The Make's designs come to life. Customers can book a Personal Shopping appointment in the showroom. If desired, the clothing can be adjusted free of charge.

We are located in a renovated farmhouse. A pleasant peace and quiet atmosphere where a small team of permanent employees and freelancers work on the high-quality slow fashion label. The rooms are bright and classically modern. From the showroom you can view our gardens and land with ancient fruit trees and sheep. The building itself is completely self-sufficient using solar panels. Owner Hans also keeps his own bees here. When purchasing garments from our collection in our showroom you receive a jar of his homemade honey.
